9 Best Baby Bottle Warmers

A hungry baby tends to prefer warm milk! To help with your feedings, here are the best bottle warmers in the market today!

1. Philips AVENT Fast Baby Bottle Warmer

BEST OVERALL

Philips AVENT Fast Baby Bottle Warmer

The Philips AVENT Fast Bottle Warmer is my first recommendation for a great bottle warmer because it has easy usability and a price tag that is more than reasonable!

Of its many cool features, my favorite has got to be the smart temperature control, which takes the guesswork out of heating breast milk and baby food for a foolproof procedure.

It works by allowing the bottle warmer to detect the initial milk temperature and heats it to the optimum one.

It even keeps milk warm for up to 60 minutes!

You might be wondering, what if it overheats?

With the Philips AVENT, there is no need to worry about that because there is an auto shut-off feature as well. So nifty!

And because it uses a circulating hot water bath to heat milk, there are no hot spots. Just add water that corresponds to how much milk you are trying to heat, and you’re good to go!

There is a defrost setting as well, so frozen breast milk can easily be brought to body temperature.

If your baby likes room-temperature milk, let it sit for a little bit before feeding.

To top it off, the Philips AVENT is compatible with most bottles and baby food jars! Various bottle brands can fit in it, and you can heat baby food once the baby graduates to solids.

Look For Other Alternatives If…

You want your baby’s bottle warmer to alert you that it is finished with its warming cycle.

Sometimes, a nice little DING or BEEP can make you feel more comfortable when warming breast milk.

I did not find this lack of an alert system to be much of an issue, especially since heating bottles with the Philips AVENT Fast can be fast as 3 minutes, AND it shuts off automatically.

However, I can definitely understand why this is not ideal for the lifestyle of some and how setting a separate alarm (on your phone, for instance) can be a hassle.

In addition, look elsewhere if you care for many kids and need to heat multiple bottles at once. This is not the bottle warmer for you, as it can only heat one of the baby’s bottles at a time.

Pros

  • Smart temperature control
  • No hot spots, can evenly warm bottles
  • Can keep baby’s milk warm for a while
  • Shuts off automatically to prevent overheating milk
  • Can accommodate most bottles and baby food jars
  • Sleek size and design

Cons

  • No alert sounds after warming cycle
  • Can only warm milk or baby food one at a time

2. The First Years Baby Bottle Warmer & Cooler

BEST VALUE

The First Years Baby Bottle Warmer & Cooler

The First Years Night Cravings Bottle Warmer & Cooler flaunts its multi-use features. It can cool and heat milk AND sanitize pacifiers!

The “Night Cravings” name is apt as it works great for late-night feedings!

You can keep it in the nursery (or near wherever baby is sleeping) and have quick access to baby’s milk.

You can store two baby bottles of breast milk or formula in the cooler, which can keep it cool for up to 8 hours*, thanks to the two re-freezable ice packs that come with the unit.

This means no more getting up in the dead of night to pick up frozen breast milk in the freezer or fridge.

I LOVE this because we parents need as much rest as we can get!

As for the bottle warmer, this product removes the need to measure how much water is needed to warm milk as it comes with water vials you can pre-fill before going to bed.

It also shuts off automatically after the heating process for added safety. With this product, your late-night bottle feeding can become as simple and fuss-free as possible!

In addition, it can also sanitize pacifiers and baby bottle nipples. Most baby bottles can fit in the unit, including a stabilizer component for skinnier bottles!

NOTE: Room temperature milk (whether breast milk or formula) can be safely consumed for only a matter of time. I suggest not letting baby’s milk sit for a prolonged period despite being in the cooler.

Look For Other Alternatives If…

You think that steaming is not the best way to warm breast milk. This First Years Night Cravings product uses steam heat to get baby’s milk to optimum temperature.

Though using steam is probably the quickest way to get even frozen milk to a place where your baby can consume it properly, it can also for sure get the baby’s bottle quite hot.

Too much heating could cause harm to your baby and get rid of the much-needed nutrients as well.

To avoid injuring your little ones with an overly hot bottle, always test the milk or formula if it is at body temperature before feeding.

Trust me, this will be part of your routine.

That being said, I think this cooler and warmer (plus sanitizer) combo is a great product, and I have had a very good experience with it!

If stepping outside the nursery each night for feedings does not sound ideal to you, I would say that this bottle warmer is worth a shot!

Pros

  • Offers fuss-free late-night feedings
  • Multiple uses
  • Affordable for its features
  • Compatible with most bottles
  • Can be used to heat baby food

Cons

  • Steam can be harsh
  • Some reviews say that the heating can be inconsistent

3. BabyX Fast Bottle Warmer

BUDGET PICK

BabyX Fast Bottle Warmer

A more affordable unit does not necessarily mean it has a “cheap” performance, which is exactly the case with BabyX’s offering – the best bottle warmer for parents on a budget!

It offers even heating so that there are no hot spots while also ensuring that NONE of the breast milk’s essential nutrients are “burned away” by overheating.

The brand claims to equip its bottle warmer with a “slow heat” process that guarantees the preservation of these nutrients and helps prevent burning baby’s bottles.

A LED light indicator serves as a signal as to the warming process. How convenient!

It has an auto shut-off function and can turn on by itself when the temperature of the water in the chamber drops.

Not only is it EFFECTIVE at heating breast milk (or formula and baby food), it can also function as a sterilizer for pacifiers, baby bottles’ nipples, and small teething toys.

Another thing I appreciate about this BabyX bottle warmer is its UNIVERSAL design to accommodate any baby bottle. Plastic, glass, and silicone bottles are all acceptable!

It does not have a basket to easily and more safely lift out the contents of the unit, but it does come with handy tongs so that you will not have to stick your hand inside while it is hot.

Look For Other Alternatives If…

The BabyX offering does not offer a defrost feature for frozen milk, which may be needed by parents and caretakers who freeze breast milk.

As I have mentioned earlier, they cannot be kept at room temperature for long, 4 hours to be exact.

Hence, many like to keep their supply in the freezer to retain its benefits.

If you are that type of person, your baby may have a more difficult time with bottle warmers that cannot defrost because it will take longer to warm up their milk.

Unfortunately, this warmer also lacks a timer, which is much needed for timing.

For those who want to be extra careful with overheating, a unit with a timer may be more comfortable to use (though this one is capable of shutting off by itself).

Still, for a bottle warmer that is rather inexpensive, I would consider it more for its many helpful features than its minor drawbacks.

Pros

  • Safely heats up milk to preserve nutrients
  • Very affordable
  • Multi-use
  • Can shut off automatically
  • Can accommodate many types of bottles

Cons

  • No defrost feature
  • Sterilization can take a while

4. Tommee Tippee Easi-Warm Electric Bottle and Food Pouch Warmer

Tommee Tippee Easi-Warm Electric Bottle and Food Pouch Warmer

If you want a bottle warmer that is totally free of bells and whistles and, therefore, extremely easy to use, look into the Tommee Tippee Easi-Warm.

With only two settings in its control dial, there should be barely any room for confusion regarding usage procedures. It also comes with a very clear manual!

This manual, I find, is consistent with the promised results regarding the warming time in relation to varying start temperatures and bottle sizes.

The two settings are to warm the milk from the fridge or room temperature and maintain its warm temperature after the heating process.

This bottle warmer uses a warm water bath, which I really enjoy because it promotes even and gentle heating of breast milk and baby food.

Adding to its points for ease of use, you simply need to add water, turn the dial, and wait for it to finish.

It works rather quickly, able to heat up 5 ounces of milk in JUST 4 MINUTES.

The wide chamber makes it possible to heat up different sizes of bottles. It is also BPA-free, in case that was something you worry about regarding bottle warmers.

Look For Other Alternatives If…

You prefer a bottle warmer with an auto-shut-off feature to prevent overheating, which this one does not have.

The capability of a bottle warmer to automatically shut off is a useful safeguard to prevent burning away the many nutrients in milk.

For some, an audible alert is enough to get by for this purpose in the absence of an automatic shut-off feature. This, also, is lacking in this product.

Furthermore, it does not function as a pouch warmer, so it cannot be used with baby food pouches or breast milk pouches.

But for new parents and caregivers who are only starting to dip their toes in the bottle warmer technology, I think there is nothing less difficult in the market than this.

Pros

  • Easiest bottle warmer to use
  • Manual guide results are consistent with real-life usage
  • Milk can stay warm
  • Affordable option

Cons

  • No automatic shut-off function
  • No audible alert for end-of-cycle

5. Dr. Brown’s Deluxe Bottle Warmer

Dr. Brown's Deluxe Bottle Warmer

Dr. Brown’s Deluxe Bottle Warmer is a crowd favorite among many parents and caregivers, and it is plain to see why!

It is quite easy to use, effective, and reliable in its results.

So far, I have only talked about bottle warmers that have an auto shut-off feature (and some that do not). This has such a feature AND an electronic countdown timer.

This means that it does not work by measuring temperature but rather relies on the amount of steam heat the bottle’s contents are exposed to in a given period.

Did I mention that the timer in this bottle warmer is backlit and has a memory feature?

It will remember the setting you last made, so there is no need to fumble in the middle of the night!

Since it is not based on temperature, it might take some trial and error before you find your best timmer setting. But once you do, I swear it will make your life 10x easier!

In addition, the water tank where you store water to use to create steam is sizeable, which does away with the need to refill or pour fresh water after each heating cycle. So awesome!

It is not the cheapest option, but do not overlook it if it is within your budget range!

Look For Other Alternatives If…

You prefer to use a warm bath as the heating procedure. This unit is effective in heating milk, formula, or baby food, but it does so using steam heat.

I have discussed the pitfalls of using steam in bottle warmer cycles, which may be a valid concern for many parents and caregivers.

Though, I think Dr. Brown’s Baby Bottle Warmer effectively prevents those from happening due to its timer and automatic shut-off features.

Some people have also said that they have difficulty using it with bottles other than the ones from Dr. Brown’s.

If your baby likes a different brand of bottles, this is a potential problem.

In addition, you might need to find a suitable space for this in your home. While its dimensions are not massive, the cord is rather short, in my opinion.

If you are considering this bottle warmer, you may need to do some rearranging here and there.

But I think it can really be WORTH IT for all its benefits!

Pros

  • Quickly heats up milk
  • Has an automatic shut-off feature
  • Has a backlit timer with memory
  • Huge water reservoir for reduced refilling

Cons

  • Uses steam for heating
  • Might not be the best fit for other brands of bottles and baby food jars
  • Short cord

6. Baby Brezza Safe & Smart Electric Baby Bottle Warmer

Baby Brezza Safe & Smart Electric Baby Bottle Warmer

This bottle warmer option from Baby Brezza is a costlier pick that not everyone can get their hands on, but if you can, I think it will be money well spent.

They call it “Safe” because its heating process makes use of both steam AND hot water bath to specifically cater to the feed you are trying to warm.

  • The hot water bath is suggested for defrosting (yes, it has that function as well!) breast milk and warming it gently so as to keep the nutrients intact.
  • The steam heat is used to heat formula and baby food quickly to body temperature for baby to enjoy as quickly as possible. You also get a basket insert for your baby food jar!

It is “Smart” because you can connect the unit to your smartphone via Bluetooth and a free app, effectively allowing you to control it remotely and also receive alerts.

  • The bottle warmer will automatically shut off once done with the heating cycle, and the app will NOTIFY you so you can feed your little one promptly. Genius!

The controls in the unit itself are also simple!

Just choose the starting temperature of your feed and then pick the warming settings accordingly.

The timer display is backlit as well, making heating errands easy even if they need to be done in the middle of the night.

I cannot recommend this bottle warmer enough!

Look For Other Alternatives If…

Your budget for a bottle warmer is on the expensive side, and you do not feel like you really need these features for you and your little one to get by comfortably.

This Baby Brezza product, as I have said earlier, is a PREMIUM pick. Feel free to view it as a luxury instead of a necessity because it definitely is!

The Bluetooth connectivity is a brilliant feature to complement the automatic shut-off and countdown timer (at least, I think so), but many can make do just fine without it.

I love that this unit presents options for water bath or steam heating, depending on what you need to do, but one or the other can be enough, especially if you have a strong preference.

Still, I think this is an excellent choice if you can afford to splurge a bit to make your life just a bit easier, which I’m sure many parents and caretakers want and deserve.

Pros

  • Easy to use
  • Can defrost breast milk
  • Warm bath AND steam heating options
  • Can connect to smartphones
  • Can accommodate baby food jars

Cons

  • On the expensive side

7. GROWNSY Baby Bottle Warmer

GROWNSY Baby Bottle Warmer

If you want a bottle warmer that is PACKED with features and capabilities, this option from Grownsy boasts 8 multi-functions that can help you with feedings!

I chose to include this variant rather than their 5-in-1 unit (which is also stellar from what I have heard) because it can heat multiple bottles at once.

After all, if we are going for the most features with bottle warmers, might as well pick the one that has a larger capacity. If you have twins or more, look no further!

With this option, you can choose from the following functions:

  • Fast Warming
  • Steaming
  • Food Heating
  • Keep Warm for 24 Hours
  • Fast Thawing
  • Constant Thawing
  • Timer
  • Adjustable Temp as Desired

That is a lot of promises from a single unit. How can it possibly deliver all those sufficiently?

And with a price tag that is below $50? It must be too good to be true, right? Wrong!

Grownsy applied advanced technology that they explain (way better than I can) on their website about probes that give accurate temperature control.

It does not hurt that there is an auto shut-off feature to give parents and caregivers more security about the quality of breast milk after it goes through warming cycles.

Look For Other Alternatives If…

You are looking for a simple and straightforward bottle warmer or do not need to heat two milk bottles or baby food at once.

While this Grownsy bottle warmer has been very capable in my personal experience, there was a bit of a learning curve to navigating all its different functions.

If you are attracted to its features and purchase a unit, do read the manual thoroughly. But a plainer bottle warmer is probably better if you cannot be fussed.

You may also find the double capacity not very useful if you are looking after just one child. Feel free to check out other options from this list if that is the case.

Pros

  • Eight multi-functions
  • Double bottle heating capacity
  • Reasonable price
  • Comes with different color options

Cons

  • Can get complicated and overwhelming at first
  • Needs more real estate in the counter

8. Baby’s Brew Portable Bottle Warmer Pro

Baby's Brew Portable Bottle Warmer Pro

This is hands down the BEST PORTABLE bottle warmer available in the market today – no, you can’t change my mind.

I have tried others, but this is truly the most convenient!

First of all, it is cordless and battery-powered, which already saves a lot of electricity!

Secondly, it is designed to perfectly fit inside your diaper bag, so you can make space for other necessities.

Lastly and most importantly, you can choose the temperature at which your breast milk or organic baby formula will be heated, giving you much-needed reassurance that overheating will not occur.

Aside from the temperature control, this bottle warmer also uses a “unique slow heat technology” to ensure even warming throughout the process.

I love its sleek, easy-to-clean stainless steel body, which also features a leak-proof design. It is an outstanding option for parents and caretakers ON THE GO.

Having said all this, it would not be a surprise if I consider it a worthy investment, especially if you bring your kids out a lot. If you have money to spend, I say go for it.

Look For Other Alternatives If…

You do not need a travel-friendly baby bottle warmer or cannot justify the price of this unit.

Again, I will be the first to say that there is nothing wrong with spending lavishly on baby gear. This is especially true if you cannot get your money’s worth out of said gear.

There is no reason to get a portable warmer, much less an expensive one, if you do not go out a ton.

I did not include alternatives for other portable bottle warmers because this list only includes the BEST, but you have quite a few options available in the market these days.

On an important note, it is not compatible with some pre-mixed formulas. You will have to check their guidelines to see if you can use your preferred formula with this warmer.

Nonetheless, if this Baby’s Brew product interests you, I am happy to reiterate that it is the most terrific portable bottle warmer I have tried so far.

Pros

  • Cordless
  • Customizable temperature
  • Fits well in diaper bags
  • Leak-proof design
  • Lasts 8-12 hours on a full charge

Cons

  • Very costly
  • Can take a while to heat milk
  • Not compatible with some formulas

9. The First Years 2-in-1 Simple Serve Bottle Warmer

The First Years 2-in-1 Simple Serve Bottle Warmer

I am closing out my list with another product from The First Years, the Simple Serve bottle warmer.

If you are keen on their Cooler and Warmer combo but are still on the fence about the cooler part, this is a good warmer option to look at, as they are pretty much the same thing.

This particular offering is simple, living up to its name, though not to the same degree as the Tommee Tippee I mentioned earlier. It can shut off automatically, for example.

Like the previous The First Years unit, this one also has a water vial you can pre-fill and keep by the warmer so that there is no need to measure water when you need to heat some milk.

In addition, it has a nifty lift-out basket that makes it convenient to carry out its other function: a sanitizer for pacifiers and nipples of baby bottles.

The basket can also double as a helpful tool to adapt shorter bottles to the warmer, eliminating the risk of burning your hand when fishing out smaller bottle sizes.

This entire unit definitely takes up less room than the option with a cooler so storage is easier and can look less like clutter on your counter or shelves.

While not as feature-rich as the others, it is a CLASSIC for a reason. It works well across the board and is a fairly safe bet for those hesitating to try bottle warmers.

Look For Other Alternatives If…

You need or want more from your baby bottle warmers than simply for heating and sanitizing purposes.

This is another great pick for parents and caregivers who do not want to spend a lot on their bottle warmer, so you can’t really fault it for its lack of bells and whistles.

For example, though it can technically work to heat up baby food, too (and they make sure to advertise this), this is not the aspect in which it shines the best.

There are other bottle warmers in this list that can do that as effectively as they can warm milk.

If you are interested in those features, do check out my other recommendations!

All the same, if you are only beginning to dip your toes into this technology and see if you can benefit from it or not, this is an excellent option for you.

Pros

  • Simple and easy
  • Can double as a sanitizer
  • Can shut off automatically
  • Affordable option

Cons

  • Not a lot of features

How to Choose the Best Bottle Warmer

Unfortunately, there is no one singular best bottle warmer that will work perfectly for all parents and caregivers.

If there were, I would have recommended it already and be done with this list! But each person is different, and each baby is different too.

In order to find the bottle warmer that is best FOR YOU and your family, be sure to keep the following factors in mind:

Cost

Price tag icon

You will likely find something that can fit into your budget and not let you down with its performance.

Sometimes, the best option is the most expensive, and other times, a cheaper alternative works just as well (if not better!).

Luckily, the landscape for bottle warmers is wide these days, so we have options ranging from pretty cheap to pretty expensive.

As you can see by my list, there are good options on both ends of the spectrum, and the prices are found somewhere between.

Effectiveness

Thumbs up icon

The ideal milk temperature is 98.6°F or 37°C. This temperature is approximately body temperature or a bit below it.

It can also be consumed at room temperature, which is 77°F or 25°C, but it will not keep for long and must be refrigerated or frozen before it goes bad.

When choosing your bottle warmer, ensure it can safely reach these temperatures and test them out before feeding baby.

In addition, do choose warmers that can EVENLY heat bottles as hot spots can also cause damage.

Anything above 104°F or 40°C and the milk may already have overheated and been stripped away of its nutrients.

Overheating milk is a real problem because it can hurt your baby’s mouth and burn away the nutrients that they can really benefit from.

A helpful way to determine the consistency and effectiveness of a bottle warmer is to check reviews and see how it worked for other people.

Ease of Use

Timer icon

Diving into any new technology can be intimidating, especially one that can impact your baby’s health.

Hence, something that is basic, easy to use, and without many added features that can be confusing will be the safer option pick.

Once you are comfortable, you can try other products with more features. These can definitely make your life easier!

Ease of Cleaning

Cleaning icon

Because bottle warmers come in such close and constant contact with something that your baby feeds from, I think cleaning is a HUGE concern.

If you are a newbie, I would choose an option with fewer compartments, as they are generally easier to clean.

Each product will have its own set of care instructions. Try to review them before purchasing to see which cleaning routine will fit your lifestyle.

Features/Functionalities

Notepad icon

To save yourself some cash and the trouble of understanding features you don’t need anyway, choose the bottle warmer that responds to your SPECIFIC needs.

For instance, you do not need a compact bottle warmer if you and your child stay mostly indoors.

A defrosting/thawing function will not be useful if you don’t freeze breast milk.

But if you are caring for multiple children, something with a bigger capacity is probably worth the extra bucks.

Bottle Compatibility

Baby bottle icon

Bottles and baby food containers come in different shapes, sizes, and materials. You have glass and plastic bottles. There are narrow and wide-neck bottles, etc.

Some bottles are also meant for premature babies.

Your baby will probably favor a certain kind. This is the type of bottle that the warmer you choose should be capable of accommodating.

Even if it has amazing features, it will likely be wasted if your bottle can’t properly absorb the benefits.

Take note of this if you use baby food pouches and breast milk bags as well because some warmers are not compatible with these containers.

Remember to use organic baby bottles only!

Do I Even Need a Bottle Warmer?

Woman thinking

When a hungry baby cries, you need to feed them immediately in order to soothe their needs.

However, many babies prefer something WARM; hence, the invention of the bottle warmer!

It offers many benefits, and in my opinion, it is a needed piece of technology, especially for babies who are exclusively bottle-feeding.

Why You Need a Bottle Warmer

There are a few reasons I will name why they are more than a luxury:

Safety

Breast milk contains many nutrients to help your baby grow healthy and strong.

The old method of using hot water or even a microwave can cause overheating and kill these nutrients and injure the baby.

Convenience

Heating milk should not take a long time because the baby needs to be fed as soon as possible. A warmer can do this fairly quickly, even if the milk has been frozen.

Helpful Features

Sanitation, keeping milk at optimum temperature for a prolonged period, and other features truly make caring for children easier.

I’m so grateful for the amount of time and mental energy I saved because these features offer solutions.

Useful When Mom is Away

A stash of expressed milk is always useful to have on hand. However, it will go bad unless cooled, and the baby usually prefers warm milk

A warmer will help you keep your baby happy and healthy.

How to Use a Baby Bottle Warmer

Mother and baby

Every bottle warmer varies in function to the next, but generally, you just need to be aware of the heating options available.

You will probably need a certain measurement of water whether or not your warmer uses steam or a water bath.

Be sure to read instructions carefully so that it functions as it’s supposed to and doesn’t scorch the milk.

Bottle Warmer Safety Tips

Delivering baby food SAFELY is the main concern addressed by bottle warmers. To ensure this, remember to always:

  • Be aware of the manufacturer’s instructions.
  • Check the milk and bottle’s temperature before feeding.
  • Shut off the warmer when it reaches the correct temperature (if it doesn’t do so automatically).

Frequently Asked Questions

Read on for more useful information on baby bottle warmers!

How Do You Clean a Bottle Warmer?

Each manufacturer will provide different instructions for cleaning.

You need to at least wipe down the chamber and descale every so often to avoid the accumulation of residue and build-up of residue.

Can a Bottle Warmer Stay On All Night?

It depends on the warmer you have.

Some are not capable of keeping milk heated evenly, others can for a few hours, and some can do so for a full 24 hours.

Can You Use Tap Water in a Bottle Warmer?

No!

Please only use distilled water!

Other types of water are unsafe to use as mineral deposits can be present in them and damage the warmer in the long run.

Do You Need to Warm Baby Formula?

You don’t need to, but you CAN if your baby prefers it warm.

Breast milk needs to be heated because it probably came from the fridge or freezer.

Formula should be prepared only when needed and not made to sit without being immediately consumed.
